On October 13, 2022, the Working Group (WG) “Canal HORECA” of Plataforma Vidro+ was inaugurated. This is coordinated by Associação Smart Waste Portugal andSOGRAPE.

In this 1st meeting, some relevant data and studieswere analyzed in order toprepare the actions of Plataforma Vidro+, in this sector.

TheHORECA channel (hotels, restaurants and cafes) has had a large growth in the last seven years, due to the increase in tourism, and this has implications forglass packaging recycling.

The goals of the WG are:

• Analysis of the current situation;
• Understanding the constraints of the HORECA Channel;
• Finding possible solutions to adopt (pilot cases);
• Identify entities to be involved.

The meeting took placeonline and was attended by more than 30 participants.
